A 16-year old orphan who gets released from prison after 5 years for dine and dashing. He quickly becomes friends with Aran Inoue as they try to survive together in Meiji Japan with nowhere to go home too.

He was a member of Shishio Makoto's rebellion and took ownership of Shishio's sword after his death.
