One of the most popular guys in school, he is a bully who often picks on Kawaguchi. He asks Azusa out when she moves to his school.

It turns out that not only does he know that Azusa has no feelings for him, he also has no feelings for her. He only likes her because she is not from the small town that they are living in.

He tries to force Azusa to still be his girlfriend after she tries to break up with him, but Kawaguchi stops him. During the fight, he and Kawaguchi are thrown over the side of the building, but Kawaguchi barely grabs on. Kasuga ends up being jabbed by the hairpin he got for Azusa in his hand by Kawaguchi and dies from falling off of the building.
Later on, it turns out that Kasuga may have feelings for Azusa as he got the hairpin for her that meant "I wish to be closer to you."
