Luna is a black-haired girl who was shown to be kind at first, but in fact she is a serious girl with a super-ego. She is Gilles's "escudo" (shield) and that title gives her the right to follow and protect him in the vampire hunting.

She is also the Pure Blood, as revealed in the first chapter. As a vampire she has a long silver hair. She was the one who was thought have killed Gilles's relatives.
it is revealed in chapter 4 that she never killed Gilles's relatives and that she actually protected him. She did this because the Mayford family has the powers to kill the Pure Blood and she wants to correct her past mistakes by killing all vampires and then having Gilles kill her when she is done, ending the vampire race once and for all.
