Nogiku is the stepsister of Kasane and the daugher of the woman whom Sukeyo Fuchi was taking on the appearance of. After the death of Sukeyo, Nogiku's father sexually, emotionally and physically abused her, forcing Nogiku to speak, dress and act like Sukeyo, and refusing to call her by her name. Once she learns of Kasane's existence and the truth about her own mother, Nogiku kills her father and escapes from home to search for Kasane and avenge her own mother's death. As opposed to Kasane, who sees beauty as a blessing, Nogiku believes that her beauty and likeness to "Sukeyo" has brought her only misfortune and lead to her being treated as a plaything by men, to be used and discarded afterwards.
