Riku is a very caring person who always wants to help people. At first, she believes she is helping people, but she soon learns that she is a Beckoning Hand for phantoms, meaning she is endangering those around her. This causes her to fall into a deep sadness, but she resolves to become truly capable of protecting herself and those around her.

Riku constantly tries to be friendly with Katanagi, despite him insulting her and trying to get away whenever possible.
