As a young girl, Sakuya suffered under the pain of her parent's divorce. Abandoned by her father and hated by her step-mother, Sakuya is then placed into the hands of her caretaker, Kanade. On the day of her birthday she is greeted by a guest named Chihiro, known neither by herself or Kanade, who delivers a birthday present and leaves. Gazing up at the stars, Sakuya contemplates the next time they would meet...

After discovering Chihiro's tragic past in chapter 30 or so, she has decided to "ignore" See-chan's advise and not let Chihiro alone in chapter 32.
