Samekichi considers Wadanohara to be the most important person to him and will risk anything for her happiness.

He spends the first half somewhat being the antagonist of the game, but then it reveals he was once Wadanohara's familiar until Sal erased her memory.
Samekichi constantly tries to make Wadanohara leave the sea and she takes it as an insult. But in reality, he was trying to protect her from Sal.
In the true ending, Samekichi goes after Sal and tries to steal the scepter away from him. He returns after a time skip with the scepter and reunites with Wadanohara.
Samekichi was the one who gave Wadanohara her beloved ocarina.
