Rei's twin brother and a sensitive artist, Sei committed suicide during their last year of junior high. Rei was raised to protect him, and thus blames himself for his brother's death.

Near the end of the series Kira, and only Kira, finds out that Sei mainly killed himself to make Rei suffer. She finds a secret suicide note he wrote which explained this.
