Taiga is a landlord of a house where Zen and Asahi live. He always supports Asahi, Shimana and Zen. He doesn't like women, thinking they're all weak and can't be trusted. Both he and his father are public prosecutors. His father worked on the case of Shimana's mother's death. He, like his father, always wears a kimono.

After Shimana fell in love with him, he slowly started to develop feelings for her, although he kept trying to pair her up with Zen.
It was rumored that during high school he was dating English teacher Nakagawa, which made Shimana very uneasy, as she thought that Taiga might return to her.
It is revealed later that his real name is Taiyou. He been hiding his name, because Asahi is his brother and their names have similar meaning. (Taiyou means Sun, Asahi means Morning's sunlight.)
His dream is to be an English teacher, but his father was against that and forced him to become public prosecutor.
