Toyomitsu often wears a gloomy expression and carries around his figurine of Agriculture Guardian Harvester Rice, which he made himself.

After being sent back in time by Spica, the goddess of harvest, Mito meets him at different points of his soul's reincarnation (identified by the flame-shaped birthmark he has somewhere on his body):

1) 2.500.000 BCE: he is part of the Australopithecus garhi species. Mito nicknames him "Garhi" for short. His birthmark is on his back.

2) 800.000 BCE: Mito stumbles upon his tribe and treats his snake bite, after which he tags along with Mito on her search for Garhi (not realizing, at first, the time she'd been sent to). He learns to say her name, and she names him "Erec" after Homo erectus. His birthmark is on his chest.

3) 3000 BCE: his name is Iresu, and Mito is able to communicate with him after three months of observing his language and living with him in the village. They live together for 10 years, until Mito succumbs to illness and is sent back to her present. His birthmark is on his shoulder.

He admits to having dreams of the savannah and a mysterious girl for years. His birthmark is on his forehead.

Toyomitsu and Mito eventually get married and have a daughter, whom they name Minori.
